Requiem for a Dream movie

Today we’ll talk about an unusual movie; about the movie that can save and kill. You can adore or hate it, but it’s impossible to stay indifferent.
I want to let you know: if your psychics is weak, don’t do it – don’t watch “Requiem for a Dream”!

 

What is the main problem of drug addiction? You deep into euphoria but here the life stops. You can easily go through this open door but never can leave. You loose your moral make-up and enter another world with another reality. You live by other, cruel laws.

 

 

 

Every beginner, listening to the stories about what it can lead to, never believes. He thinks: “It may happen with anybody, but not me, not me…” But it happens… According world statistic thousands of people suffer from drug addiction but only few of them can refuse from it.

 

Cinematograph has used the theme of drugs for many times. Mostly such movies are too grisly. They are created to shake people’s consciousness, to make them think that it’s terrible. But some directors made amusing stories about nice guys-users. Such movies had happy ends like “Trainspotting” movie. But all of them can’t be compared with the main movie about drugs – “Requiem for a Dream”.

 

I think Requiem is the best movie about drug addiction. When I watched it for the first time I couldn’t sleep and eat. I was thinking how people could drive themselves to such condition.

 

Darren Aronofsky doesn’t tell any tales, he doesn’t teach anybody, he just reflects the ruthless reality of drug addiction. If you want to watch this movie, download “Requiem for a Dream”.

Plot

 

Movie tells about short period of four people’s lives: an elderly lonely Women Sara Goldfarb (Ellen Burstyn), her son Harry (Jared Leto), his girlfriend Marion Silver (Jennifer Connelly) and his friend Harry Tyrone (Marlon Wayans). Harry, his girlfriend Marion, and Tyrone are drug addicts, who have recently taken the needle. Now they are quite normal people with dreams and plans for future. Marion wants to open own cloth store. Harry loves Marion and dreams to share his life with this girl.

 

Harry and Tyrone buy a dose, dilute it and sell to buy a new dose. Here is a sophisticated philosophy of drug addicts. Of course, this business can’t lead to a success. Guys risk to be killed by unsatisfied clients or rivals. Soon drugs are over in their small city. And then guys get to know what means to miss the dose…

 

All dreams are forgotten. Love between Marion and Harry disappears. Now there is a single aim – to procure the dose.

 

Harry’s mother knows about son’s problems but can’t do anything. Now she has another thoughts – how to loose extra kilograms. She is invited to her favorite TV program but can’t put on the beautiful red dress. She goes to doctor, who recommends Sara to take pills. And she starts to do it…Those beautiful pills really help her to become slimmer but she seems to get used to them…

 

Now we see the crazy company of drug addicts: each of them has his own story but all of them are equally unhappy.
